When Annie's husband John Dies of leukemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade four fellow Women's Institute members to pose nude with them for an "alternative" calendar, with a little help from hospital porter and amateur photographer. The news of the women's charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales. They calendar is a success, but Chris and Annie's friendship is put the the test under the strain of their newfound fame. Based on the true story of 11 Wisconsin members who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukemia Research Fund, this tale of philanthropy and friendship is both funny, poignant and heartwarming. Rated PG-13 CAUTIONS: Mild Adult Themes, Nudity/Partial Nudity

Lionhearted Kids Run4Hunger

Join us on Saturday, April 29 for the Kids Run4Hunger (previously the Lionhearted Kids Run) as part of the Oshkosh Marathon weekend of events! This is a fun run event for children ages 3 to 10 years old. 100% of the proceeds from this event support the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry and its’ Food4Kids Programs. Kids can help fight hunger in our area by joining in this fun running event! All kids who register will receive a cotton race shirt, goody bag, refreshments at the finish line, and a finisher’s medal that glows in the dark! Run with team mascots and run in the fight against hunger!
 
Distances designed for each age level: 3-6 years old: 500 feet 7-8 years old: 1/2 mile 9-10 years old: 1 mile Event details and schedule Race day Registration and Packet Pick-up: Saturday, April 29th (day of the races) from 7:30-8:15 a.m. The first race kicks off at 8:30 a.m. All races will happen in the Leach Amphitheater, 303 Ceape Avenue, Oshkosh. Description
"100 days: the Creatives Respond" is a multi-disciplinary and multi-venue event in downtown Oshkosh, Wisconsin coiciding with the 100th day of the of the new presidency. Artists, musicians, and writers will give voice to a continued conversation - one that addresses topics such as: equality and free speech, a clean and livable environment, transparancy in our government, and the benefits of quality education and health care. Participating Creatives are from Texas, Chicago, throughout Wisconsin, Minneapolis, and Mexico. Some are emerging artists, while others are long time professionals. Educators. Students. All are interested in speaking out, and this is their forum. The event will run on Saturday 4/29 from 10am - 8pm & Sunday 4/30 from noon - 5pm. Artworks will be on display at Matchbook Studio, Jambalaya, ArtSpace Collective, as well as the student work from Oshkosh North at the Historic First National Bank Building. Spoken word will be at 2 - 3pm on Saturday the 29th at the Great Hall of the Oshkosh Pubic Library, immediately followed by a mediated open forum from 3pm - 4pm, inviting the public to share all points of view. Sunday, April 30 Downtown Oshkosh • 7 a.m. Start CORPORATE RELAY Up to 10 participants per team can run in the Corporate Relay. Runners may do multiple legs. Leg(L) 1= 3.4 Miles(M), L2=3.5M, L3=2.6M, L4=1.2M, L5=2.6M, L6=3.5M, L7=2.8M, L8=2.5M, L9=3.4M, L10=.6M DISTANCES Marathon (26.2 miles) -Boston Certified Qualifier Half or 2 Person Relay (13.1 miles) 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles) Kid's- varies each age; not over 1 mile. THE COURSES Registration, start and finish are all next to each other and within 1 block walking distance! The course is flat and has scenic diversity. AWARDS/Perks Awards to overall male/female and traditional age groups. The event is part of the Aurora BayCare Series offering even more prizes. Participants receive a high quality tech shirt , sport bag and finisher shirts for the full marathon. Also food, chocolate milk, fun and free photo after the event. Marathon and Half Marathon finishers receive a medal. Finisher shirts are given to the full marathon finishers.

Race the Lake

SUNDAY, AUGUST 20 AT 5:45 A.M. Lakeside Park, 158 E. Harbor View Dr., Fond du Lac 10th Annual Race the Lake is a 100 mile bike race around the majestic Lake Winnebago, full of scenic diversity and is enjoyed by all abilities from professional to the beginning cyclists. Do the event as an individual, or with a team! DISTANCE 100 Miles-Century Ride The course will stage the dramatic start at 52 W. Scott Street in Fond du Lac. The journey begins by heading north hugging the west side of Lake Winnebago and traveling through Oshkosh, Neenah, Menasha, Appleton and to the half way point at High Cliff State Park. Riders then take the east shoreline of Lake Winnebago - taking in lots of greenery, the mammoth blue lake and fresh country air. The course goes through Calumetville, Marytown, and St. Peter, and finishes at Lakeside Park (158 E. Harbor Drive) in Fond du Lac. PERKS Dri-wickshirt, finishers' medal, computer chip timing. Also receive a pasta dinner and FREE beer after the event. AWARDS Cash prims: Awards given to the overall male/female and traditional age divisions.

Oshkosh Empty Bowls Soup Sampler

Description
The Soup Sampler is a biannual fundraiser for the area community pantries. How It Works: Purchase a ticket ahead of the event or at the door. Select from handcrafted bowls, sample delicious soups and breads from over 20 local restaurants while listening to live music. Proceeds from your ticket and from silent auctions will benefit food pantries and meal programs in the Oshkosh Community. The bowls are to be taken home as a reminder that someone's bowl is always empty in our community. Tickets can be purchase individually for bowls or soup or a combination.
